Love a bit of D&B myself!

That Common is mind blowing, truly a fish of dreams. Well in Mr Blair.

I've read with interest the comments about Korda buying Nash. I don't think that if Nash's turnover is £11m and Korda buy the company then Korda's turnover won't simply increase by £11m as many rig bits, for example, are sold by both companies and a buying company would surely not have both brands in the marketplace. As somebody has said, apart from bivvies and the Bushwacka I'm not sure why Korda would want in as they already do rig bits, rods, nets, barrows, luggage etc and Nash have just dropped out of the bait market so there's no benefit there either.

The only things about Nash that I could see Korda being interested in are; the Bushwhacker, the R3/R4 bite alarms and the name Titan as a bivvy brand name (the Titan Hides are a great design IMO).

Watched it last night, it was o.k, nothing more, the humour was the best bit.
If anyone were buy Nash or Delkim I'd hope it was Korda, given Embryo. As for Fox revenue, I'd imagine when Korda launch bivvies they'll be taking a fair chunk of that.

Yes taking them out is another line of thought, however that £11 million and market share will mostly go to another fishing company that sells products Korda don’t have.

I think Danny said they’d put £11 million in to Embryo so reinvesting figures are difficult to determine against net profit.

I wasn’t extolling the virtues of just American companies and acquisitions. I did mention European companies as well, but my point is that you can’t ignore larger companies increasing market share.

The biggest risk to Korda is if Fox purchased Nash or even Cipher Group.

They went urban on a canal barge.

Caught a few bigguns off someone's spot then posted up a feature film about it

But it sounds like Nash could be “taken out” without spending a penny tho 🤷‍♀️

I wonder how much of Korda’s profits are reduced by all the Embryo purchases. But tbh, who cares 😂 I’m sure Danny and the directors are doing ok.

Also not sure about extolling the virtues of American companies buying out others. Rarely do they ever actually add anything to a brand, and are only buying them to profit strip and sell off later.

It depends if Korda wants to increase their market share instantly.

If you look at global acquisitions in North America they’re up by 33% and in Europe/EMEA they’re up 51%.

By acquiring Nash then Korda would increase their revenue by 30% and remove a direct competitor.

Fox has the biggest turnover at £77.7 million.

However Korda’s is quite far behind at £37 million and their profitability at £2.9 million is low.

I think a company like Korda purchasing another brand. They would instantly want to put there own touch to things. There own developments. Like what they did with the Carp Porter brand. There not called Korda Developments for nothing.

I can't see why they would want to buy a monster like Nash tackle. They bring nothing to the tablethey couldn't produce themselves.

Interesting people saying there in trouble. I heard this a while back from an owner of a well known Tackleshop that they were in trouble. Stock being held up in docks due to payment issues. The dropping of Nash bait. No smoke without fire.

One line of thought is:

It would instantly add £10+ million turnover to Korda’s group revenue with very little work.

They would also get a huge range of products they don’t sell which would enable them to increase market share overnight. Bringing a full range of bivvy’s, bedchairs, alarms, reels, boats etc. to market takes a considerable amount of work.

Agree that Korda have zero need to buy Nash.

If they wanted bivvies etc (to echo the example from below) they could do what Cyprinus done.

Remember all the cheap/reasonably priced gear Cyprinus used to do…and some of the deliveries were in Aqua boxes. Same factory…

They could bring out a few bivvies in no time if they wanted to and take some of the Titan revenue from Nash and some Frontier revenue from Fox.

Thats what I would do, take out a big player…it would be difficult for a startup to move into this industry now and get anywhere near as big as Nash was.

Leaving just Fox and Korda as the main players

Why tho? They can not buy it and they might go out of business anyway. Why duplicate the ranges? If Korda wanted bivvies and bed chairs they could bring them out as fast as temu could deliver them.......

I don't know about the German Common as I won't watch anything by Nash these times ,nor will I buy anything Nash again either...when it breaks or wears out it'll be another company gets my money ..

Reason ...they seem to have a habit of outing people's quiet venues when they have been told to respect private places..,personal experience here..for a few likes ...etc...
That's all I'm saying ...tossers !

Feels like Nash's finances have been at the centre of conversations for several years now. Are they really in such dire straights?

The common was stunning. I've a feeling that fish is about to see a lot more angling pressure after the release of this film. The D&B on every nash film drop is getting a bit boring now.

Got to admit, the Mrs made me mute the music at times 😂 I like some of it, but some of it wasn't to my taste!

@Spen89, I knew that Felix fella rang a bell, I watched a programme some years back, in search of giant Peacock Bass in the Amazon (think it was that) but there's also a French fella that did one that's stuck in my head. That's on a bucket list too 😀

Agreed, the content was cool...I watched it all in one sitting......and although the music was not my cup of tea, it didn't detract from it.......Passion for Angling type soundtrack would have been hugely incongruous and not worked at all in this context.

I really enjoyed this film, agreed that common was something else

And for balance, I didn't watch a passion for angling. I'm a big fan of the music, long may Nash continue producing this type of content 👍

It is such a mind blowing fish, I feel if that clip were taken alone, out of context, it would be dismissed as "bloody AI slop!"

Oh, and the music was getting on my t*ts a bit too😡

I'm half way through the video that common Is really a stunning fish, but how annoying is the music 😡 I watched it thinking that It would be far Better without that obnoxious drum and bass at that high level
