In reply to Post #794 That was probably around when I stopped getting emails after ticking the βemail me when someone posts on my threadβ checkbox mate!

In reply to Post #793 Yeah, email side of things got re-written for the new site.
When I had to move to a new server (April 2024?) the new hosting provider stopped all outgoing emails.
I got around it with some changes on this new version...welcome aboard π

Been on since Cemex and Monkeys shut down but wouldn't let me verify email to post. Seems the changes to the site fixed it. Great forum.

In reply to Post #789 Good times mate, yeah was busy weekend for sure...mostly Neil's alarms keeping me awake

In reply to Post #788 We had socials there in 2003 and 2004 - 'Eliminators' I think we labelled them!
For those who weren't around back then - these were socials/friendly matches where the 2 winners that weekend got their entry into the BCAC paid.
Jimbo and Neil Hubber came first or second in their Eliminators and went on to set the BCAC match record fishing at Thorpe Lea. Sleepless session that one from what I heard mate - for you, Neil and the steward doing the weights!

In reply to Post #787 Thank you Karlos!
yeah the photography has taken over my life tbh but keen to wet a line in the New Year mate.
I hope life is good for you.
Hahah the only thing that ate my bait that weekend but great memories.
Lets hope he is still annoying other anglers at Sandhurst!
What year was that ?!

In reply to Post #784 Welcome back Jimbo.
I'm always seeing your Facebook posts/stories/whatever but nice to see you back here.
I just had a little dig around in my photos folder and found this pic from one of our Sandhurst socials...

We nicknamed him Swan Vestas. He took a liking to you (and your bait)

I feel new haha
Been a long time but looks like it is all ticking along nicely.
It says my last post other than today was 2006!!
amazing to see it doing so well Karlos!
I have had a long break from angling but possibly looking at taking it back up in a lighter way and going back to basics.
And fishing for a mixture of species, including some dark old looking carp of any size
great London based so should be able to find a suitable mixed venue with some nice, tincas, carp, perch and crucians.
Also now in a flat so need to work out how not stink everything out with wet nets and bait.
Shout out to all the original Carpforum posse and hope some of you are still on here.
Many happy memories on the forum and fish-ins including the carp championships with the legend Mr Hubber many, many moons ag0
