Not sure there is one . . . personally I would enter all significant weed-beds with trepidation if using a bait boat - especially thick Canadian / heavy pads and the like. Weed guards provide a 'little' security but if you go off route / reverse / try and turn around in a tight spot this is where problems can occur.

Its only happened to me once but I had to wade out to prod it free before I blew the motors - luckily it was a far margin that I could access but at extreme range it would have been 'stuck'. If you're on a weedy lake best thing is to do a test drive into the thick stuff under your feet / where you can rescue it. This way you can get a feel for it and also decide whether you want to risk it in other parts of the lake or not!

Proper decent boat the C series and good support from the lads if you ever need anything too....

In weed I think a fast powerful boat is always wise in case you get stuck you have the ooommph to get out.

I've had the sailvvay C series for nearly a year. Great boat, auto pilot, GPS, fishfinder, all in 1 remote.

Which of the current bait boats on the market copes with weedy lakes the best? Budget wise £1000-£1500 but would need that to include GPS, autopilot as a minimum hopefully squeeze in some form of sonar (happy to use deeper chirp)

When I'm looking at boats some have weed guards some don't, I'm also guessing some weed guards are much better than others and also assuming the way in which the motors are designed cope much better in weed than others. Or are they all a bit rubbish in weed?
