I've read with interest the comments about Korda buying Nash. I don't think that if Nash's turnover is £11m and Korda buy the company then Korda's turnover won't simply increase by £11m as many rig bits, for example, are sold by both companies and a buying company would surely not have both brands in the marketplace. As somebody has said, apart from bivvies and the Bushwacka I'm not sure why Korda would want in as they already do rig bits, rods, nets, barrows, luggage etc and Nash have just dropped out of the bait market so there's no benefit there either.

The only things about Nash that I could see Korda being interested in are; the Bushwhacker, the R3/R4 bite alarms and the name Titan as a bivvy brand name (the Titan Hides are a great design IMO).

Watched it last night, it was o.k, nothing more, the humour was the best bit.
If anyone were buy Nash or Delkim I'd hope it was Korda, given Embryo. As for Fox revenue, I'd imagine when Korda launch bivvies they'll be taking a fair chunk of that.

Yes taking them out is another line of thought, however that £11 million and market share will mostly go to another fishing company that sells products Korda don’t have.

I think Danny said they’d put £11 million in to Embryo so reinvesting figures are difficult to determine against net profit.

I wasn’t extolling the virtues of just American companies and acquisitions. I did mention European companies as well, but my point is that you can’t ignore larger companies increasing market share.

The biggest risk to Korda is if Fox purchased Nash or even Cipher Group.

They went urban on a canal barge.

Caught a few bigguns off someone's spot then posted up a feature film about it

But it sounds like Nash could be “taken out” without spending a penny tho 🤷‍♀️

I wonder how much of Korda’s profits are reduced by all the Embryo purchases. But tbh, who cares 😂 I’m sure Danny and the directors are doing ok.

Also not sure about extolling the virtues of American companies buying out others. Rarely do they ever actually add anything to a brand, and are only buying them to profit strip and sell off later.

It depends if Korda wants to increase their market share instantly.

If you look at global acquisitions in North America they’re up by 33% and in Europe/EMEA they’re up 51%.

By acquiring Nash then Korda would increase their revenue by 30% and remove a direct competitor.

Fox has the biggest turnover at £77.7 million.

However Korda’s is quite far behind at £37 million and their profitability at £2.9 million is low.

Yeah, saw that promoted the other day - and I thought that was what had sparked this Korda/Nash debate

I think a company like Korda purchasing another brand. They would instantly want to put there own touch to things. There own developments. Like what they did with the Carp Porter brand. There not called Korda Developments for nothing.

I can't see why they would want to buy a monster like Nash tackle. They bring nothing to the tablethey couldn't produce themselves.

Interesting people saying there in trouble. I heard this a while back from an owner of a well known Tackleshop that they were in trouble. Stock being held up in docks due to payment issues. The dropping of Nash bait. No smoke without fire.
