Used mine for a week in France and never had to charge the batteries.

It says you can charge the batteries externally, see the Deeper site here, click on the bottom frequently asked question 👍

To be honest I've never needed to charge on the bank. My recent 10 day session I had a lodge so it was done in there off the electric. However if you do need to then you can use a power pack which makes it really easy.

That sounds ok. Do you charge the batteries on the bank, with the boat?
I wouldn't want to leave a boat charging in a community shed etc if I was fishing abroad but it would be ok just charging batteries.

Didn't buy the spare batteries - you simply don't need them. All charging of batteries is done via the boat.

Can you charge the batteries/spare batteries separately as well?

With my 10 year old RT4 starting to experience problems I recently took the plunge and purchased a new Deeper Quest baitboat. I was somewhat hesitant about the purchase given Deeper are relatively new to the baitboat market. However, in the 3 months I have owned it I have been seriously impressed with this boat and there is no doubt it is far superior to other baitboats I have owned including the RT4. In particular the boat is just so easy to use. Everything is done off a single handheld controller which is a dream to use. Likewise the doors all drop at the first time of asking and the speed of the boat is impressive. When using the deeper app the boat can be programmed to scan and area of water and spots can be marked and the autopilot will take the boat straight to these automatically. I have recently returned from a 10 day fishing trip where I had three spots saved with the furthest 180 yards away. The boats autopilot took it to these spots with pinpoint accuracy. This was far more accurate than the toslon autopilot I had on my RT4. In fact when putting the bobbin on I could see the slight kink in the line where the bobbin had been attached time and time again - incredibly accurate. For £1800 this is an absolute bargain for anybody wanting a new baitboat with all the echo sounder and GPS built in. The battery life also has to be mentioned which is seriously impressive and charging is very simple - just attach the usb wire to the boat and away you go - no horrible li-ion batteries you have to have special chargers for and are scared to leave unattended. I have two very minor negative points and they are incredibly picky. One is the doors need a slight groove in them as the line is trapped currently. Secondly it would have been nice to not have to take the side off to charge but it's only two thumb screws to undo. Overall the Deeper Quest is an amazing boat and anybody who is in the market for a baitboat would find it very hard to buy better.
