Have a look at Chalong fishing. Jez (English) who owns it will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off. The food there is really good (Eng & Thai) think his mother in law makes it, very laid back, everything supplied.
He'd only recently opened when I went, the fish are a lot bigger now.
If your taking the Mrs its a nice place for her to chill out and you could always go to Chalong Bay afterwards.
Edit, if your anywhere near Karon there were 2 freshwater pools by the beach front where the locals fish, local tackle shop was Phuket Sport, that's where the boy I was chatting to bought his stuff.

Agreed with this but may be better to stay a night or two due to the travel if its possible.

They'll come and collect you and drop you off, have different meal packages and accommodation.
Can recommend a very good private tour guide if you want one. Must do's Phang Nga Bay and elephant hills, Khao sok national park probably a bit too far from you as we stayed slightly further north in Khao Lak, what time of year are you going?

Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions on venues in Thailand.
