In reply to Post #1 I've used Manster braid for a few years now, used to be called Monster.
I use it in 40lb straight through for spodding up to and over 100m.
I also use it in 25lb as a mainline braid with a fluoro leader for distance fishing.
It's a good as, if not better than power pro.

Know a lot of people who use it for sea fishing. All rave about it. Can't see why it wouldn't be up to job for sodding.

In reply to Post #2 Yeah, that’s the stuff. It’s less than a third of the cost of the Daiwa equivalent but have subsequently read a few reviews to say it’s nothing like the stated BS, but then I don’t necessarily thing J-braid is either!

In reply to Post #1 I have bought a spool of this stuff a while ago, it looks good but yet to spool up with it.

In reply to Post #1 I can’t comment on that specific brand but I’ve used other cheap Chinese braids in spod rod for years and never had an issue.
I believe a lot of it is the same spectra braid either different labels.

Hi
I normally use J-braid for my spod but on the spur of the moment, bought some Manster W8 in 27lb off Aliexpress. It’s obviously a lot cheaper but I’m now doubting my decision and wonder if I should have stuck with Daiwa.
Just wondered if anybody has any thoughts on Manster ? I normally use a MIDI spod to about 25 wraps.
Cheers
